How to get to Monemvasia

By Air

The closest airports with scheduled, charter & low cost flight are :

Kalamata International Airport (KLX) - approx. 160 km distance (2.5 hours)
Athens International Airport (ATH) -   approx. 285 km distance (3.5-4 hours)

By Car

You can reach Monemvasia by car, by driving for about 3 ½ hours on good quality roads and enjoying the beautiful landscape of the Peloponnese!
Starting from Athens, you follow the A7 highway to Corinth and Tripoli. After you pass by the town of Tripoli, you need to take the direction of Sparta. Once you approach Sparta, there are many prominent road signs that will lead you to Monemvasia.
Once you reach Monemvasia, you will drive through the new town and carry on the same road, over to the Monemvasia rock (you will cross over the bridge), to finally end up outside the Castle's main gate. As Theophano art hotel is located inside the traditional settlement of the Castle, you will need to park your car outside the main gate.

During the summer season you can also reach Monemvasia by ferry.
